Sabum-nim Matthew Alicea is a 4th Degree Black Belt in Taekwon-Do under the International ASAS Taekwon-Do Federation (IATF). He began training at the age of four under the guidance of his father and instructor, Grandmaster Jesús Manuel Alicea, and has earned multiple championship titles throughout his martial arts career.
In addition to his Taekwon-Do background, he holds Black Belt ranks in Hapkido and Premier Martial Arts (Karate and Krav Maga). He previously managed a Premier Martial Arts school and directed a Crouching Tigers program in Indianapolis, specializing in youth martial arts instruction.
With extensive experience in martial arts school administration, marketing, and student development, Sabum-nim Alicea currently serves as the IATF Director of Communications and Public Relations. He is also a member of the Martial Arts Business Association (MABA), bringing valuable expertise in organizational growth, branding, and community engagement to the federation.
